International renters must have an International Driving Permit to drive in Illinois and to rent a vehicle from either Enterprise Rent-a-car or National Car Rental.
The changes to the Enterprise process took effect on November 1, 2023.
- National Car Rental has been added as an option to rent a car along with Enterprise.
- Renters will have the ability to rent vehicles directly from Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The cost may vary from local branches however, this is now an option.
- The process for reserving a rental car is the same, but a different corporate ID and billing number will be needed.
